On November 15, the new NFT collection Symbiosis, created by Finnish artist Roope Rainisto in partnership with Mercedes-Benz NXT, will go on sale. This collection of 80 unique tokens explores the relationship between humans and machines, combining photography and artificial intelligence. What came out of it? Read on to find out.
What We Know About the Collection
The artist, known for his projects in the field of post-photography, used real photographs for training the AI model for the first time. These photographs were taken at the Mercedes-Benz Museum and supplemented with archival images of cars, architecture, and art. Through thousands of iterations, the AI created numerous images, with only the best ones selected.
The concept positions artificial intelligence as a tool for creative expression. Additionally, according to the creator, the project explores the boundaries between the real and virtual, creating works that feel both "familiar and surreal."
However, it’s unclear how these works differ from poorly crafted prompts where AI generates extra hands or fingers.
Initially, the collection was scheduled for release on November 14. However, a day before the launch, the team announced a technical issue with the API for converting USD to ETH, which delayed the release by one day.
Nevertheless, the community anticipates high demand. In the comments, users note that the team's previous projects were quite good and suggest strategies to build confidence in the project, including purchasing 10% of the collection to strengthen investor trust.
