The Tonkeeper team announced its rebrand to Keeper. The wallet has become multichain and now supports six more networks in addition to TON: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, Arbitrum, Base and BNB Chain.
TON has its own key generation scheme, which is incompatible with the one used by Ethereum and other EVM networks. Because of this, the same seed phrase couldn't be used for both TON and the other networks, so the developers released a new app with a single recovery key that works across all networks.
Full functionality on TON has been preserved: jettons, NFTs, staking, DNS names and the built-in browser remain unchanged.
Cross-chain swaps now happen right inside the wallet: the user picks the coin they have and the coin they want to receive, with no bridge and no intermediate wrapped tokens involved. The feature was developed in partnership with payment provider MoonPay.
A built-in mechanism covers network fees on TON and Tron, so users don't need to buy the network's native token just to send a transfer. For example, USDT on the Tron network can be moved without holding a single TRX in the wallet.
As of publication, multichain mode is live in the mobile apps on iOS and Android, while the web, desktop and browser-extension versions will get the update later.
