Important collaborations in the field of gaming NFTs

Here are two striking examples from the world of gaming NFTs. In both cases, Ubisoft and Magic Eden level giants are trying to integrate NFT into their games.

For the giant, Ubisoft and Magic Eden will jointly release the NFT collection “Captain Laserhawk” on the Arbitrum blockchain.

Captain Laserhawk is an anime based on games from Ubisoft, specifically “Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.” Owning these 10,000 NFTs for the multiplayer shooter gives users access to rewards, content creation and influence over project management decisions, the release said.

Recall that a largely similar project launched a month ago. Magic Eden and Mocaverse jointly launched MagicMoca, a startup platform for selling gaming NFTs. The new platform features in-game NFTs and IPs curated by both projects, as well as early access for Moca NFT holders.

The goal of this collaboration is to leverage the strengths of both platforms to offer a premium NFT experience focused on specific sectors such as gaming and general culture.

What are our thoughts on this?

As we have previously stated many times, the GameDev industry is trying to keep itself separate from traditional NFTs - the inherent specificity of gaming artifacts in the NFT format requires the creation of separate, specialized exchanges. Thus, the separation of the gaming world from traditional Web3 is gradually increasing: this applies to both technical specifics and financial performance.

Despite a certain “media silence” with the absence of large and high-profile sales, the aggregate figures of NFT-turnover in the gaming sphere exceed the traditional sector, and this turnover is also more dynamic. Pulling giants like Magic Eden into this sphere will allow to create more technological and advanced solutions in this still relatively empty market.
