Adidas and Stepn have announced the release of a limited-edition collection of physical sneakers. Previously, the companies collaborated on an NFT collection, and this new product represents a step from digital assets to tangible items.

According to the announcement, Adidas and Stepn, a Solana-based app, are preparing to launch 1,200 pairs of Adidas Ultraboost 5 sneakers. These physical sneakers will go on sale later this month. Earlier, the companies introduced the Stepn x Adidas Genesis Sneakers NFT collection, which included 1,000 tokens.

Stepn's CEO Shiti Manghani called the release of physical sneakers a significant milestone in the partnership with Adidas. She noted that this demonstrates how Web3 is transitioning from digital collectibles to real-world goods.

The launch coincides with the closure of RTFKT, a project acquired by Nike in 2021, which focused on digital collectibles. During its operation, RTFKT created over 20 collections, earning nearly $50 million, including $45 million in royalties. The company's total token trading volume reached $1.5 billion.

Adidas Vice President Erika Wykes-Sneyd highlighted that the launch bridges the physical and digital worlds, offering a fresh perspective on fitness. The physical sneakers will be sold exclusively on the MOOAR platform, underscoring the project's exclusivity.
