World Liberty Financial has joined the official partners of UFC FREEDOM 250, an event held on June 14 on the grounds of the White House in Washington. The brand put up a separate prize pool of $250,000, which will be split among the fighters with the best performances of the night. The WLFI logo appeared inside the octagon and was shown during the broadcast.
The payouts will be made in the USD1 stablecoin, pegged to the dollar. The USD1 awards will be added to the traditional Performance of the Night bonuses that UFC head Dana White hands out after each event. So the standout athletes will get a double payout — the regular one and the crypto one.
Zach Witkoff, co-founder and CEO of World Liberty Financial, said a win in Washington should bring in money right away, not days later once a bank decides to open.
“USD1 is a faster and more accessible way to work with the dollar. Our company sees this as the future of the financial system,” he said.
