On September 2, the U.S. Mint began selling collectible coins issued to mark the country’s 250th anniversary. The front of the coin features a portrait of current President Donald J. Trump, while the back features the Presidential Seal.

The coin was designed by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, based on an official White House photograph of Trump taken by Daniel Torok. The front of the coin is engraved with LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 1776 ~ 2026.

The back features the Presidential Seal, with an eagle holding an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. The number 250 appears on the shield. Additional inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR.

The coins are legal tender, but for now they are being sold only as collectibles. They are available in sets of 25 for $61 and sets of 100 for $154.50. The sets randomly include 250,000 coins with a special July 4th mark.

The U.S. Mint plans to release these dollar coins into general circulation in the fall of 2026.
