OpenSea has added support for NFTs on the Solana blockchain, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade digital collectibles on the network.
The move comes more than four years after the marketplace first tested Solana NFTs in beta in April 2022. At the time, the rollout was limited to just 165 collections and failed to gain significant traction.
Most of the trading volume during that period went to rival platforms Magic Eden and Tensor. Earlier this year, Magic Eden shut down its marketplaces for Bitcoin and EVM-based networks to focus on Solana.
Solana returned to OpenSea in April 2025 with the launch of the OS2 platform, but at the time, it supported only fungible tokens. The company said it would add NFT support later.
According to an OpenSea representative, the team rebuilt OS2 from the ground up as a multichain platform, first adding support for Solana tokens and now expanding it to NFTs. Solana is the first non-EVM network to support NFT trading on OpenSea after the platform's beta phase ended.
“Given the current landscape, with so many collectible platforms emerging that use Solana NFTs, this is especially relevant,” the representative said.
OpenSea users now have access to popular collections on the Solana network, including Claynosaurz, Mad Lads, BoDoggos, Collector Crypt, and Phygitals.
