Between August 24 and 30, Strategy acquired 4,603 BTC for $369.7M at an average price of $80,318 per coin, including fees and expenses. Its total holdings rose to 845,050 BTC. The company paid $63.73B for its entire bitcoin holdings, or an average of $75,412 per coin.
This was the company’s first bitcoin purchase in two months. Strategy last bought 520 bitcoin Strategy made its last purchase on June 22, and from then until the end of August, it only sold bitcoin.
The purchase was funded by the sale of 4,531,421 shares of Class A common stock. Net proceeds totaled $602.8M. During this period, the company did not issue any preferred shares from the STRF, STRC, STRK, or STRD series.
Of that amount, $369.7M went toward buying bitcoin, $151.8M was used to repurchase 1,557,177 STRC shares, $50.7M went toward STRC dividends, and another $30M was placed in a cash account for general use.
As of August 30, the company had $5.10B in reserves for dividends on preferred shares and interest on debt. Separately, it had $1.61B in an account that can be used to buy bitcoin, repurchase its own securities, and cover other payments. Both amounts include proceeds from stock sales that had not yet fully reached the company’s account by that date.
The preferred securities repurchase program has $364.8M remaining. The $1B limit for buybacks of MSTR common stock was not used. The company still has $19.09B available for new sales of common stock, $17.51B for STRC, $4.01B for STRD, $2.10B for STRK, and $1.62B for STRF.
