According to The Block, citing DefiLlama, spot trading volume on decentralized exchanges accounted for around 24% of the volume on centralized exchanges in July 2026. This is the highest level since data collection began in 2019.
At the same time, DEX trading volume fell by roughly 26% compared to the previous month, totaling about $130.8B. That marks one of the weakest monthly results in nearly two years. The ratio increased despite the decline in overall market activity.
Throughout most of 2024, DEX market share remained below 10%. In 2025, it began climbing steadily, and during the first half of 2026, it generally ranged between 18% and 21%. July’s figure set a new record for the series.
According to DefiLlama data as of early August, four blockchain networks led the market over the past 30 days. Solana recorded approximately $49.9B in spot trading volume, followed by BNB Chain with $31B, Ethereum with $28.8B, and Base with $22.4B. Most of the trading activity came from Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Aerodrome, and protocols such as PumpSwap.
Current 24-hour DEX trading volume stands at around $4.5–4.6B. According to DefiLlama, the DEX vs. CEX dominance metric stood at approximately 28.6% as of August 3.
