Changpeng Zhao (CZ) made his first public appearance at Binance Blockchain Week, stating that the exchange is developing a roadmap to revive Binance.US. The entrepreneur described the United States as the primary center for the digital asset future and confirmed his intent to rebuild the company presence.

Corporate Restructuring Plans

The exchange is considering a recapitalization of its American subsidiary. This move focuses on reducing the ownership stake of Zhao, as his majority control currently blocks the process of securing licenses in several states.

The market share of the platform previously fell from 35% to nearly zero during regulatory disputes. Bloomberg reports that while negotiations regarding the new ownership structure are active, management has not reached a final decision.

Leadership Shift and Institutional Expansion

Yi He, serving as co-CEO alongside Richard Teng, will lead the effort to compete for market share with Coinbase. The team plans to strengthen partnerships with institutional entities like BlackRock.

He and Teng are also tracking the market structure bill in the US Congress. This legislation would establish a transparent federal licensing system for the industry.

Preventing Token Listing Fraud

Zhao discussed private conversations where even heads of state requested help with token listings on the exchange.

“I always refuse such requests,” he emphasized.

Zhao identified any intermediaries or consultants who promise listing assistance as scammers. He stated that no employee has the power to manage asset placement outside of official channels.
