Bitwise, an asset manager specializing in crypto investments, has announced the closure of its Dogecoin ETF less than a year after launch. Trading for the fund’s shares under the BWOW ticker on the NYSE Arca platform will completely halt on October 14, 2026. Once the trading session concludes, the entity will cease operations.
The company explained the fund's liquidation as a move to adapt its offerings to new market demands.
Shareholders retain the right to sell their assets on the secondary market right up until the final delisting date. The firm's management previously coordinated the delisting procedure with the New York Stock Exchange to ensure a smooth liquidation process.
In an official press release, the company stated that specialists will lock in the fund's net asset value as of October 21. Remaining shareholders will receive cash distributions in their accounts on October 22.
