According to WSJ, Mark Zuckerberg has begun developing an in-house AI tool meant to handle part of the company’s management tasks. The system is expected to independently gather analytics and interact with employees, potentially reducing the need for a traditional corporate hierarchy.

At the same time, the company is rolling out similar solutions across teams to speed up workflows and operate more like small tech startups.

Automation Is Going Deeper Into Meta

Inside the company, the use of AI is gradually becoming a standard part of daily work. Employees are building their own automation tools that analyze conversations, help respond to messages, and take over routine tasks.

More advanced solutions have also emerged. For example, systems that can quickly process large volumes of internal documentation, essentially acting as project coordinators. Within Meta’s internal network, dedicated environments are already being tested where such bots interact with each other without human involvement.

Acquisitions and a New Structure

Meta is doubling down on acquisitions, buying teams and products focused on autonomous AI agents to quickly build expertise and keep up with competitors.

At the same time, the company is reworking its management model. New divisions are designed with minimal hierarchy, allowing dozens of employees to work directly with a single manager. They are encouraged to take part in hackathons and build tools that simplify their own day-to-day work.

The shift in strategy is causing concern among employees. In recent years, Meta has already gone through large-scale layoffs, and now workers fear new waves of job cuts driven by increasing automation.
