A whale who held Shiba Inu for nearly two years transferred 14.5 billion tokens to the OKX exchange, realizing a significant loss. Data from Arkham Intelligence shows that the address remained inactive for an extended period and exited the position amid the ongoing decline in the memecoin’s price. The transaction resulted in the loss of most of the initial investment.

The whale entered the position in March 2024, purchasing SHIB at approximately $0.000045. The total investment amounted to about $0.507 M. At the time of exit, the token’s price had dropped to around $0.000006, bringing the return down to just $0.084 M.

The transaction came after nearly two years of inactivity on the address, drawing the attention of analysts. A transfer of assets to OKX typically signals preparation for a sale, which was later confirmed.

The exit coincided with a prolonged decline in SHIB, which is currently trading about 82% below its 2024 highs. Selling pressure remains amid weak demand in the memecoin segment and a broader cooling of the market.
