TON Foundation has shared details on how the NFT 2.0 standard works and how developers can start building with it. Representatives of the foundation said the standard is now fully open for use, while the minting platform remains in limited-access testing.

According to the announcement, NFT 2.0 is an open, fully documented standard available for implementation by any project. Developers, marketplaces, and protocols can already integrate it using the official documentation — no restrictions apply.

Alongside the standard, TON has developed the Mint Platform API, a toolkit designed to simplify the NFT creation process. It is currently in beta and available only to select partners with special API keys. These include projects preparing large-scale drops and technically ready for direct TON integration.

Max Crown, Head of NFT at TON Foundation, said that testing is necessary to ensure the system’s stability and scalability.

“We want to make sure the product delivers the best possible quality and user experience before opening it to everyone,” he noted.

The public release of the Mint Platform API is expected in early 2026. Until then, developers can already use the open NFT 2.0 standard to build and integrate their own solutions.

TON Foundation emphasized that NFT 2.0 represents a major step toward a more open and interoperable ecosystem of digital ownership, allowing creators to mint and manage tokens directly on the TON network.
