The foundation confirmed that its Layer 1 blockchain and native MON token will go live on November 24 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The public rollout of the network and token distribution ranks among the most anticipated crypto events of the year.
Earlier in October, Monad opened a portal for users to check allocations and connect wallets. The claim period ran until November 3. On the first day, wallet partner Privy reported heavy traffic and temporary slowdowns, signaling strong community demand.
The airdrop targets thousands of early Monad ecosystem participants and roughly 225,000 verified on-chain users. Rewards will also reach active traders on DEXs like Hyperliquid and Uniswap, users of lending protocols including Aave, Euler, and Morpho, as well as participants from Pump.fun, Virtuals, and select NFT and DAO communities.
Monad said the distribution aims to make community members meaningful stakeholders in the network, calling them the driving force behind the project’s growth and broader ecosystem development.
A portion of MON tokens has been reserved for educational initiatives such as RareSkills and SheFi, along with research collectives SEAL 911 and Protocol Guild. The foundation also released a limited series of Monad Cards featuring well-known crypto commentators.
Tokenomics details have not yet been disclosed.
Founded in 2022, Monad has raised $225 M to build an EVM-compatible blockchain designed to combine Solana’s speed with Ethereum’s decentralization. The testnet, launched earlier this year, demonstrated parallel transaction execution and MonadDb, a database with sub-second finality.
At launch, the network is expected to integrate with Uniswap, Magic Eden, and OpenSea, and support wallets including OKX, Backpack, MetaMask, and Rabby.
