In a post published on October 14, the Monad team confirmed that applications for the MON airdrop are now open. The distribution will be part of a broader marketing campaign to promote the innovative blockchain. The project plans to launch its mainnet before the end of 2025.

The airdrop will cover a wide range of users, including owners of EVM and Solana addresses who have been actively involved with DeFi and NFT projects. Eligible participants include traders from decentralized exchanges such as Hyperliquid and Phantom Wallet, users of Pump.fun and Virtuals, as well as those engaged in meme coin markets.

Additionally, liquidity providers in major DeFi protocols will qualify for the distribution.

Another category of recipients includes holders of well-known NFT collections such as Azuki, CryptoPunks, Doodles, Pudgy Penguins, and others.

The Monad team explained that the MON airdrop is aimed at “people who live crypto” – active users, traders, and collectors who form the core of the Web3 community. In essence, it serves as a way to distribute tokens among an audience capable of testing and supporting the ecosystem in its early stages.

Monad positions itself as a high-performance, EVM-compatible network designed to solve scalability issues inherent to Ethereum. The project intends to make the deployment of smart contracts and developer tools as seamless as possible within existing infrastructure.

The MON launch will mark the first major step toward the network’s release and a key opportunity to draw attention to a new contender in the Layer-1 blockchain space.
