The interview of Telegram founder Pavel Durov with Lex Fridman became one of his most detailed public appearances in recent years. In a conversation lasting more than four hours, he spoke about his personal cryptocurrency investments, his views on TON and the future of blockchain integration within the Telegram ecosystem.

Bitcoin as the Foundation of Personal Assets

Durov confirmed that Bitcoin became the cornerstone of his personal capital. He began acquiring BTC at an early stage and continues to see it as a tool for preserving wealth, believing that BTC will eventually reach $1,000,000. At the same time, he emphasized that his investments are not connected to Telegram – the company develops independently of its founder’s personal holdings.

He noted that Bitcoin helped him finance his lifestyle and remain independent, particularly during periods when Telegram faced difficulties due to blockages and regulatory pressure.

About the TON and Telegram Ecosystems

In the discussion, Durov stressed Telegram’s commitment to user privacy. He highlighted that Telegram prioritizes the protection of user data even under geopolitical pressure and “pressure from Russia and Iran.”

A separate part of the interview was dedicated to TON. Durov described the blockchain as a promising element for expanding Telegram’s capabilities. He explained that TON allows building services and applications on top of the messenger and forms the foundation for a future economy within the ecosystem.

According to him, TON’s open architecture makes it a highly flexible tool. Durov pointed out that integrating blockchain services into Telegram is already in demand, and the growing number of users and transactions only confirms this trend.

Interest in Toncoin remains despite volatility. At the moment, the token’s price has dropped below $3, sparking discussions within the community. Some analysts interpreted this as a sign of weakness, while others saw it as an opportunity for gradual accumulation in anticipation of long-term growth.

Experts underline that the key factor for Toncoin is its connection to Telegram and the public support of the project by Durov. This aspect attracts institutional investors and drives liquidity in the market.

Earlier, it was reported that new services and products are emerging on TON, including TON wallets and integration with Telegram’s internal payments. In Durov’s view, this is just the beginning, as the TON infrastructure is set to become the technological foundation for applications where digital assets will be used.
