Trump Launches Utility Token for Truth Social Subscribers

Truth Social, owned by Trump Media & Technology Group, will soon begin rewarding users with its own utility token. The token will be part of the Patriot Package, a subscription plan priced at $9.99 per month that is currently in beta testing. The announcement was made Wednesday in a post on the platform.

Paid Subscription and Tokenization

The Patriot Package includes access to video content and news channels that do not align with progressive narratives. Subscribers will earn “gems” for their activity within the Truth ecosystem. These points will later be linked to a utility token that can be used both on the Truth Social platform and within the streaming service Truth+.

The launch timeline and technical specifications of the token have not yet been disclosed.

Trump Media’s Crypto Expansion

Plans to introduce tokenization were first revealed back in April. At that time, the company told shareholders in a letter that the token would form part of a loyalty system. Initially, users would be able to pay for Truth+ subscriptions with the token. Eventually, it would unlock access to other products and services within the Truth ecosystem.

Previously, Trump Media filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to register a crypto-focused exchange-traded fund called the Crypto Blue Chip ETF. This fund would track top-tier cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), and Cronos (CRO), the token of crypto platform Crypto.com.

In June, the company also submitted applications for a spot Bitcoin ETF and a dual ETF covering both BTC and ETH.

At the beginning of the same month, rumors emerged about the launch of a Trump-branded crypto wallet. However, the Trump family quickly distanced itself from the project.
