According to CryptoQuant analysis, TON (The Open Network) is rapidly growing its user base and is on track to surpass Ethereum in holder numbers by December 20. However, there are a few conditions.
Currently, Ethereum has just 15 million more holders than TON, with 137 million versus TON’s 122 million. Over the past month, TON has attracted new holders at a remarkable pace of approximately 500,000 per day. If this rate continues, TON could overtake Ethereum in holder count by the end of 2024.
However, analysts highlight two key variables that could impact this projection:
- Slowing Growth in TON Holders: While TON's growth rate has been impressive in recent months, a slowdown could occur. Even slight decreases in growth could push the anticipated overtaking date back to February 2025 or later.
- Increase in ETH Holders: Although Ethereum’s holder count growth is relatively stable, any uptick in activity could affect the final numbers.
But if TON does manage to surpass ETH in holder count and maintain its position, it may signal a strong potential for TON token value growth in the future.
