On July 9, 2026, an unknown miner found a Bitcoin block using a single Bitaxe Gamma. The mining session lasted about eight hours, and the reward totaled 3.14 BTC, worth approximately $200,000. The solo mining pool transferred the entire payout — including both the block reward and transaction fees — directly to the miner without taking any fees.
This marks the second known solo mining success achieved with a Bitaxe. The device is an open-source project designed for enthusiasts. It can be run at home, is affordable, and does not require a large-scale mining setup. Its price typically ranges from $60 to $150.
According to analysts, miners using minimal hardware continue to find full Bitcoin blocks despite the dominance of large mining farms. Over the past 12 months, solo miners have found 24 blocks, up 41% compared to the previous year. In 2026 alone, there have already been dozens of similar cases.
