American rapper Snoop Dogg sold 996,000 digital gifts in the form of NFTs in just 30 minutes. The collection is hosted on Telegram and built on the TON blockchain. According to Telegram founder Pavel Durov, the sales brought in $12 million. A second wave of interest is expected in 21 days when minting and secondary market features go live.

What’s Inside the Collection

The NFT gifts are designed in Snoop Dogg’s signature style. The collection includes vintage cars, bags with themed accessories, a digital dog, and other symbols associated with the rapper. Purchased images can be displayed on Telegram profiles or exchanged for the platform’s internal currency - Stars.

A New Life for Digital Collectibles?

Some community members believe that the collaboration between Telegram and Snoop Dogg could breathe new life into the NFT market, which has experienced a sharp decline since early 2025. According to CryptoSlam, sales volume over the past 30 days dropped by 41,24% to $406 million, and the number of transactions fell by 56,12%. During the first quarter, the market shrank from $4.1 billion to $1.5 billion.

Users on X and YouTube called the sale “legendary,” although experts caution that the hype does not necessarily indicate a reversal of the market trend.

Functionality of Telegram Gifts

A representative of TON known by the nickname Zenith, who leads the NFT segment of the project, highlighted the unique feature of these digital gifts - the ability to set them as Telegram profile decorations. Previously, the trading volume of Telegram Gifts surpassed $100 million.

Zenith also noted that it wouldn’t be surprising to see other brands follow Snoop Dogg into Telegram. However, this remains speculative: demand for such collections may be short-lived. In 2024, a Snoop Dogg NFT initially priced at $7 million sold for just $196.

Snoop Dogg and Web3

Snoop Dogg is no newcomer to NFTs. In 2021, he actively promoted tokens during the NFT boom, and in 2022 he launched the Doggies collection in partnership with the metaverse platform The Sandbox. In 2023, he introduced the NFT series Snoop Dogg Passport, which granted access to exclusive content.
