U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a funding bill that passed both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The legislation brings an end to the 43-day suspension of federal government operations – the longest in U.S. history. A dispute over healthcare spending was the main reason for the delay, but the parties agreed to postpone the issue for later negotiations.

Trump said he is ready to discuss healthcare with Democrats and sees opportunities for improvement. The bill funds government operations through January 30 and gives lawmakers time to reach a broader budget agreement for 2026.

Crypto Regulators Return

The government’s restart allows employees of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to return to their offices.

Meanwhile, ETF issuers are still waiting for the SEC’s decision on applications for spot crypto ETFs. The CFTC is preparing for a hearing on the confirmation of Mike Selig, whom Trump has nominated to lead the agency.

The Treasury Department will be able to analyze feedback on the GENIUS Act, which focuses on stablecoin regulation. The public consultation on the proposal ran from early October through early November.

Market Reaction

Bitcoin’s price remained almost unchanged following the announcement that the government shutdown had ended. In previous years, the resumption of federal operations had often triggered notable market moves.

At the time of publication, the asset is trading at $103,475, showing a 0,36% increase over the past 24 hours.
