Pump.fun, a platform known as one of the main catalysts behind the memecoin boom, is preparing to launch its own token. According to Blockworks sources, the team aims to raise $1 billion from both private and public investors, with a project valuation of $4 billion. Rumors suggest the launch could happen within the next two weeks.

What Is Known About the Token

According to three different sources, Pump.fun intends to conduct a sale of the new token through an ICO. The token will be available to both retail and institutional participants. Blockworks clarified that the launch date and final details — such as whether the token will be issued directly via the Pump.fun platform — have not yet been confirmed.

No official comments have been provided by the project so far.

If the $4 billion valuation is confirmed, the startup will join the list of crypto unicorns — private companies with a capitalization exceeding $1 billion. This would happen in less than a year since Pump.fun emerged as a key player amid rising interest in memecoins.

New Monetization Model for Token Creators

Shortly before the ICO announcement, the platform launched a rewards program for token creators. Authors will now receive a share of the profits from trading their tokens. Payouts are made in the SOL token.

Under the program, 50% of the commission from trades on PumpSwap will be redistributed to creators. With each transaction, authors receive 0.05% of its volume. For example, with a trading volume of $10 million, a token creator would earn $5,000 in SOL.

The reward claim process is simplified: users just need to open their profile on the platform, go to the tokens section, and click the “CLAIM SOL REWARDS” button.
Rewards can be claimed at any time. There are no restrictions on payout frequency.
