On October 14, OpenSea reminded users that EVM wallets must be connected by October 15. The platform added notifications within the interface too, especially targeting users who logged in through Solana or Web2 accounts.

“We know degens don’t read. So here’s your reminder: connect an EVM wallet to your OpenSea rewards profile. Most rewards are on EVM chains. No EVM wallet? No EVM prizes,” OpenSea says.
The deadline is directly tied to the launch of the SEA token and the relaunch of OpenSea’s revamped rewards system aimed at engaging active users across the ecosystem. The company hopes to reignite community participation after losing ground to competing marketplaces.
Community Expectations in the Final Stage
The deadline also coincides with the conclusion of the Treasure Chests program, in which users received chests of various tiers. The level achieved determines the amount of SEA tokens each participant will receive during the Token Generation Event (TGE).
The rarest Solar-tier chests offer the highest chances of larger rewards, but the contents are distributed randomly. Participants acknowledge that outcomes depend heavily on the market’s reaction to SEA’s launch.
“I'm at solar (the last chest). Personally hoping for a punk/pudgy/hypurr/bayc here. Anything else I might be in a lost, but I heard there's airdrop at tge too (confirmed) and the level of your chest determines the amt of $SEA. Thus, no matter how you see this imo yes its stil a gamble but the RR chances are just too nice to eat,” wrote @heycape_, an NFT collector and airdrop hunter.
Once the program concludes, users will find out whether their efforts paid off. Some may break even, while others could profit or lose depending on how the SEA token performs on the market.
OpenSea Competes for Market Share
The SEA token launch and EVM wallet campaign mark OpenSea’s most ambitious initiative in recent years. The company is working to strengthen its market position amid intensifying competition from Magic Eden and other marketplaces that are also introducing native tokens and loyalty systems.
