According to the developers, users will be able to receive real-time updates, news, reviews, and information about drops, whether they are developing tokens or collecting NFTs.

The company noted that Telegram is a natural next step because many of the largest NFT collections are already present on the platform, including Pudgy Penguins, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Azuki, Doodles, Moonbirds, Cool Cats, Bonk, and others.

“OpenSea has always been the first point of contact for many artists, developers, collectors, creators, traders, and communities in the Web3 ecosystem. Now that OpenSea is both a leading NFT marketplace and the best place to trade tokens, we want to expand our community to where token traders are, Telegram!” the announcement says.

A Setup for TON NFT Integration?

The launch sparked active discussion in the community. For example, administrators of the MyTonWallet channel suggested that OpenSea might add support for NFTs on the TON blockchain. They noted that the launch of the official OpenSea channel could be timed to the birthday of Telegram’s founder Pavel Durov on October 10 and that surprises may be on the way.

“What made me buy 20 Moonbirds Telegram stickers? OpenSea just launched on Telegram, collaborations with Moonbirds are already mentioned. Trading NFTs directly inside Telegram could be closer than we think,” wrote X user @spida_nft.

“Something's cooking on Telegram. A mysterious new channel 'Goodies' just dropped yesterday, featuring major Web3 IPs like PudgyPenguins , Doodles , Moonbirds, Sappy Seals, Doge, Azuki and more… Coincidence? OpenSea launched their official TG channel the same day. New NFT Stickers? Or new Minigame? We will find out soon,” speculated user @Azara0x.

NFTs in the TON ecosystem are used as utility assets. They give holders access to additional Telegram features, from unique usernames and anonymous numbers to “gifts” that can be sent in chats. Some collections are also viewed by investors as long-term digital assets.

OpenSea retains its status as the largest NFT marketplace, gradually expanding its functionality and audience beyond Web3. The launch on Telegram is the first step in this direction.
