NFT marketplace OpenSea has completed beta testing of its new platform version, named OS2, and presented it to the general public. The updated product enables trading of nearly any tokens across 19 blockchains and introduces a user rewards system. More details below.

Token Support and New Features

OpenSea now supports almost all tokens available on 19 networks, including Solana, Ronin, and Abstract. Previously, the beta version supported only a limited set of assets. Developers have also added several features: cross-chain minting, token swapping, enhanced holder viewing, wallet switching, and an improved bulk purchase mechanism.

Rewards and Loyalty Program

Alongside the release, OpenSea launched its rewards program, OpenSea Rewards. Users earn XP by completing tasks called Voyages. These tasks vary in rarity, from Common to Legendary, and award different amounts of points. Examples of tasks include using new features, trading, and community participation. Most tasks can be completed with small amounts.

Legacy users who participated in the beta and the first wave received special rewards known as Treasures. These reflect a participant’s contribution and will be considered in future reward distributions. Treasures have six levels and appear in the user profile after the first login to the new rewards section.

The personal dashboard displays a user's loyalty level as a percentage, which will play a key role in future distributions. One profile can link wallets across EVM-compatible chains, Solana, and Abstract.

The developers emphasize that they are actively combating bots and manipulation. The system monitors dozens of parameters, including real-time activity. Suspicious accounts may be blocked.

Preparation for the Launch of the SEA Token

The anticipated launch of OpenSea’s native token, SEA, has not yet been assigned a date. According to OpenSea, essential components of the ecosystem must be in place before the Token Generation Event (TGE), including incentives for long-term token holding and a carefully designed distribution mechanism. The company notes that both past activity and current user engagement will influence the size of rewards.

New Discord as a Community Hub

It was also revealed that the project team has completely overhauled its Discord server. More than 30 channels have been removed, and the structure has been simplified. Upon joining, users select one or more interest-based roles. The team plans to use these roles for notifications about releases, interviews, events, and news. Recent guests at events included artists and developers such as Bearsnake (Forgotten Runes), Jihoz (Ronin), Burnt Toast (Doodles), and others.

According to OpenSea representatives, user feedback has been a key factor in improving the product. The team closely monitors comments and will continue to implement changes based on community suggestions.

OS2 has already become the main version of the platform. Development will continue, with OpenSea planning to add new features and refine existing tools in the coming months.
