After the new U.S. government agency, the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.), went live, a Dogecoin logo appeared on its official website. The token’s price responded with a 10% jump, rising from $0.35 to $0.38 in under a minute, pushing its market cap to $56.5 billion.

The D.O.G.E. site now features the Dogecoin symbol alongside the phrase: “The people voted for sweeping reform.” In the HTML source code, users also found a hidden ASCII representation of the Dogecoin logo and a link to the agency’s official account on social media platform X.

Interestingly, the site’s favicon is not the Dogecoin logo but a golden dollar sign on a black background with a gold border — indicating that the Dogecoin emblem is not the department’s official logo, but rather a nod to the meme-inspired significance of its abbreviation.

Elon Musk, known for his fondness for Dogecoin, was appointed head of the new agency. His ties to the cryptocurrency have influenced its price on multiple occasions, and this latest website update once again sparked notable interest among investors.

Legal Challenge

However, the agency’s activities could face legal hurdles. The organization National Security Counselors, which specializes in legal advocacy for public interests, filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump in federal court in Washington, D.C., aiming to block the creation of D.O.G.E. They argue that the agency violates the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA).

According to the group’s director, Kel McClanahan, D.O.G.E. must adhere to transparency requirements, including documenting meeting minutes, providing public access to gatherings, and following hiring regulations. In a 30-page complaint, it is stated that D.O.G.E. meetings, including virtual ones, should be open to the public.

The agency’s work is planned to continue until July 4, 2026 — the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. D.O.G.E. aims to reduce bureaucracy, improve governmental efficiency, and scale back the size of the government. The final reform plan is set to be published on the anniversary date.
