The Federal Bureau of Investigation has warned Tron network users about reports of TRC20 tokens claiming to be issued on behalf of the agency. Scammers are distributing these tokens with messages urging recipients to “complete verification and confirm their personal data.”

The messages claim that a user’s wallet is under investigation and that restrictions can only be lifted by urgently completing AML verification through a third-party website.

Users are redirected to web pages that have no connection to government institutions. These sites request personal information and access to cryptocurrency wallets.

The FBI emphasizes that any such requests are a clear sign of fraud.

The agency also notes that simply receiving a token does not pose any threat, as long as users do not interact with the provided resources or disclose any information.
