This opinion was expressed by Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz at the Solana Breakpoint conference. Specifically he said:
«With memecoins there isn’t this profile picture in which you can easily identify on the internet, somebody that shares [your] values, and it’s almost like a chain reaction effect that I think only NFTs can create, ” Netz said.
Netz noted that in addition to recognizing others like themselves online, NFTs also create a hierarchy and demonstrate status in the community through the price and purchase period of the NFT token. All of this is done on an art object basis, which adds style and special expression. In his opinion, NFT holders are not afraid of self-expression and want to be leaders.
