«Fracton Weekly Picks» monitors the NFT market, highlighting the most important three events in the NFT world this past week. In our next digest, let’s list what FractonX analysts picked this time around.
The game from Bored Ape «Dookey Dash: Unclogged» launches with $1 million in prizes for top players. The relaunch comes a year after Yuga Labs released the original version of this game with NFT, in which the players with the highest scores received valuable prizes. The winner of the grand prize, a one-of-a-kind gold NFT key, was famed professional Fortnite player Kyle «Mongraal» Jackson. He ended up selling this NFT prize for 3,333 Ethereum, which was $1.63 million at the time.
Dookey Dash: Unclogged is a new free-to-play version of last year’s NFT game that is available simultaneously on both mobile and desktop platforms.
Azuki launches Testnet for the Anime.com project, offering free NFTs to all participants. The Anime.com Testnet is the first step in a larger project that Azuki is calling its own (the legal status of the relationships of all participants in this collaboration is not yet entirely clear).
Azuki did not share details about the project, but said that the larger anime platform Anime.com will be developed with the long-term goal of increasingly tight integration with Azuki’s existing digital assets, including Animecoin.
The Azuki team has also expanded its management team, hiring former Hollywood professionals with experience in franchise development for projects such as «Harry Potter.»
Magic Eden and Mocaverse will jointly launch MagicMoca, a startup marketplace for the sale of gaming NFTs. The new platform will feature in-game NFTs and IPs curated by both projects, and will offer early access to Moca NFT holders.
The aim of this collaboration is to utilize the strengths of both platforms to offer a premium NFT experience focused on specific sectors such as gaming and general culture.
As we have previously stated many times, the GameDev industry is trying to keep itself separate from traditional NFTs — the inherent specificity of gaming artifacts in the NFT format requires the creation of separate, specialized exchanges. Thus, the separation of the gaming world from traditional Web3 is gradually increasing, this applies to both technical specifics and financials.
Despite a certain «media silence» with the absence of large and high-profile sales, the aggregate figures of NFT-turnover in the gaming sphere exceed the traditional sector, also this turnover is more dynamic. Pulling giants like Magic Eden into this sphere will allow to create more technological and advanced solutions in this still relatively empty market.
