DEGN has introduced the Airmoney DEGN Genesis Edition, a device combining DePIN wallet functions and enabling owners to trade, earn, and even print physical currency. Access to the device is secured through a Solana NFT, each uniquely tied to one of the 1,690 devices.

What’s Known

According to Magic Eden, where the NFT resides, Airmoney DEGN is described as a “physical money printer.” It comes equipped with control buttons for trading and a display showing token information. Users can perform actions with two “short”/“long” buttons plus a dial for navigation. The device reportedly allows not only blockchain operations on Solana but also the printing of funds.

Each NFT can be purchased for 2.69 SOL (~$567). After buying, users can fill out a form on DEGN’s official website to place an order for the physical device.

Launch and Availability

Official sales began on January 2, with the first two hours reserved for wallets that registered in advance. Each user can buy up to five NFTs. Delivery timelines for the device have yet to be announced.

DEGN also promises to distribute 69% of future tokens among device owners. Additionally, users will be able to run decentralized nodes on the device and earn rewards for doing so.

Breakthrough or Experiment

According to DEGN, Airmoney DEGN is not simply a hardware wallet, but an attempt to integrate crypto culture with physical devices. The device is meant to become a pivotal component of decentralized physical infrastructure networks — though the scope and demand for such a product remain to be seen.
