Ben Armstrong, a prominent crypto blogger and influencer known online as BitBoy, was taken into custody on March 25 in the state of Florida. Just days earlier, he had publicly disclosed on X that a warrant for his arrest had been issued.

According to records from the Volusia County Division of Corrections, Armstrong was listed as a “fugitive from justice” and was taken into custody at 7:18 p.m. local time.

Reason for the Arrest

Armstrong explained in a post dated March 21 that the warrant was related to emails he sent to a superior court judge in Cobb County, Georgia — Judge Kimberly Childs.

He claimed that he had been representing himself without legal counsel in the case and had contacted the judge directly via email. Armstrong also alleged that following this communication, the judge removed her social media accounts.

As of the time of publication, there was no public information regarding Armstrong’s legal defense. He has not yet commented further on the arrest.

Not His First Arrest

This is not the first time Armstrong has faced legal trouble. In September 2023, he was previously arrested while live-streaming outside the home of a former business partner, whom he accused of stealing his Lamborghini.

In March 2023, Armstrong was named in a class-action lawsuit. Plaintiffs accused him of promoting Binance, which they claimed was trading unregistered securities. The case was settled in August 2024, with Armstrong and fellow defendant NBA player Jimmy Butler agreeing to pay $340,000 without admitting guilt.

Fights, Controversies, and the Split from BitBoy Crypto

In February 2024, Armstrong participated in a celebrity fight match against More Light, the creator of the memecoin HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu. The fight took place during a Karate Combat event in Mexico. Armstrong won the bout via unanimous decision. After the match, his opponent described him as “a normal guy in real life” and said there was no bad blood between them.

However, in summer 2023, Hit Network, the company behind the BitBoy Crypto brand, publicly cut ties with Armstrong. In its statement, the company cited drug-related issues and unprofessional behavior as reasons for the separation. Armstrong denied the allegations, calling the situation an “internal coup” within the company.
