Pump.fun, a decentralized platform for creating memecoins on the Solana blockchain, is facing serious criticism. Users have started complaining about the lack of proper moderation, which has led to the appearance of violent content in the livestream section. Members of the crypto community are demanding a review of the platform's safety approach.

Lack of Moderation

Pump.fun allows users to create memecoins and promote them through streams and community interactions. However, some streams have raised concerns due to inappropriate content. An NFT project security manager from Pudgy Penguins, known as Beau, reported a disturbing incident and called for the suspension of streams when one user threatened self-harm if their coin failed to reach a certain market capitalization level.

Other users noted that the issue is not limited to isolated incidents. The platform has received increasing complaints about streamer behavior. For example, one streamer pretended to be a dog, another refused to move until their token's market capitalization reached $25 million, and a schoolboy threatened violence against his family. Some community members described Pump.fun's livestreams as "uncontrollable."

Platform’s Response

Pump.fun's leader, known under the pseudonym Alon, acknowledged the issues. He stated that the team is actively working on content moderation and scaling the system. According to him, the platform operates with a 24/7 moderation team, while engineers are developing tools to improve oversight.

Despite these claims, many users believe the efforts are insufficient. The crypto community insists on greater transparency and urgent measures to prevent controversial streams. Some have suggested temporarily disabling the livestream feature to address the problems.

Pump.fun has not yet announced whether additional changes to the platform's functionality are planned.
