The Avalanche ecosystem has introduced a new way to engage users in blockchain gaming. In collaboration with platforms Magic Eden and Playfull, the Ava Labs team launched an NFT pass called Avalanche Battle Pass. Token holders will be able to earn in-game rewards, including NFTs and AVAX tokens.
NFT as a Single Entry Point
According to the announcement, the pass can be minted for free via the Magic Eden marketplace. After minting, it needs to be registered on the Playfull website. Participants will receive rewards by progressing through game stages in projects connected to the program.
The list of supported games includes:
- Off the Grid,
- Pixelmon: Warden's Ascent,
- Spellborne,
- Forgotten Playland,
- DeFi Kingdoms,
- The Arena, and others.
In total, the Avalanche Battle Pass covers more than a dozen projects.
Shared Progress Across Different Games
The idea behind the Battle Pass is based on a mechanic familiar from Fortnite: players earn rewards by climbing a "progress ladder" within a single pass. Parker Heath, Head of Gaming at Ava Labs, explained that the system is an attempt to fix the fragmentation within Avalanche gaming.
“We have everything from AAA shooters like Off the Grid to recognizable IPs like MapleStory Universe. But each of these games launches on its own Layer 1 blockchain within the Avalanche network. It’s scalable, but it creates barriers between communities,” he said.
According to him, the Battle Pass became “a single point of progress for all players, regardless of the game they choose.”
