Lobstar Wilde, an AI agent built for trading, lost all the crypto on its balance in a single transaction on Sunday when the algorithm responded to a user's request to help pay for a relative's medical treatment.

The program transferred $441,788 worth of LOBSTAR tokens to the requester instead of the requested four SOL because the system incorrectly identified the decimal point's placement.

OpenAI developer Nik Pash launched the project, instructing the bot to grow the deposit from $50,000 to $1 M. On Sunday a commenter named Treasure David asked for 4 SOL for an uncle's treatment, attaching a Solana wallet address. The algorithm immediately sent 52.4 M LOBSTAR to the specified account.

Analyst Branch reviewed the bot's actions, confirming the technical cause of the incident. The program intended to transfer 52,439 tokens, which equaled the requested $310. The algorithm simply miscalculated the decimal places, sending the entire balance.

The recipient immediately sold a portion of the coins for $40,000.

The price of LOBSTAR later surged by 190% to hit the $0.011 mark, which would have brought the user significantly more profit had they held their position.
