Shrapnel

This is an AAA first-person shooter with full control over your inventory: all items will be in the form of NFTs. It aims to be the first blockchain-based 3D AAA FPS game with captivating gameplay."

The action of the game Shrapnel takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. To survive, players will have to navigate through dangerous environments, battle hostile factions and creatures, as well as scavenge for sustenance. The game features advanced physics, destructible terrain, extensive character customization options, and various gameplay modes including single-player, cooperative, and competitive multiplayer.

In Shrapnel, players can sell or rent out their in-game equipment. The game's building system also allows players to create and customize their own landscapes and structures, enabling them to feel immersed in the game world. Personally, it reminds me of a blockchain-based version of Fortnite with enhanced graphics.

Illuvium

It is a decentralized 3D fantasy role-playing game with an open world, built on the Immutable blockchain. In the game, players can explore the world, capture creatures (similar to Pokémon), gather resources, and participate in PvP battles in arenas.

The game was released on November 28, 2023, but it has not yet fully realized its potential.

Players have their own customizable character with whom they will explore the open world of a very unusual planet, accompanied by a drone. They collect resources, craft equipment, and, most importantly, search for and capture the local wildlife called Illuvials.

Illuvials are the main gameplay element. They can be bred, upgraded, and used in arena battles. They can have different rarities, elements, and classes.

In addition to the creatures, players can gather valuable minerals and other resources in the game, which can later be used to create equipment. Another important in-game resource is fuel, which is produced on NFT (non-fungible token) lands. The lands were released in a limited edition of 100,000. So if the game becomes really popular, the lands will be worth a lot of money.

By the way, the initial sale of the lands was conducted through an auction, and the most expensive plots were sold for 76 ETH. It may be a more profitable investment than a suburban cottage. This is not financial advice.

Star Atlas

Star Atlas is a multiplayer metaverse built on the Solana blockchain. The game is still in development but is already available on the Epic Store.

Star Atlas is an MMORPG with an open world set in the year 2620. In the distant future, three main factions have emerged:

The MUD territory, controlled by humanity.

The ONI region, governed by a consortium of alien races.

The Ustur sector, controlled by sentient androids.

These factions engage in constant battles for resources, territorial conquest, and political dominance. As a citizen of the Star Atlas faction, you will have the opportunity to influence the outcome of this intergalactic conflict while earning rewards for your contributions in the form of $ATLAS and $POLIS tokens.

The game is currently in active development, and as of 2023, the following features are available in Star Atlas:

SAGE Labs: Resource gathering and collection, as well as earning rewards based on gameplay skills.

Faction Fleet: Passive resource farming using NFT (non-fungible token) ships.

Star Atlas Showroom R2: Active resource farming using NFT ships.

Blocklords

Blocklords is a medieval PC strategy game that has been in development since 2019. It serves as a prime example of the complexity involved in creating not only a game but also a fully decentralized gaming economy on the blockchain.

Blocklords is a player-driven medieval MMO strategy game where your decisions and skills shape the world and the narrative. Players can choose from various gameplay options, including farming, battles, resource management, and territory control.

While blockchain elements take a secondary role, the game focuses on deep and engaging gameplay and fostering a strong community around the project. Players do not require NFTs to play the game, but NFT owners can import their tokens into the game to unlock new possibilities and bonuses.

The beta version of Blocklords was launched in early 2023 and has gained popularity among 5,000 players.

Phantom Galaxies

Phantom Galaxies is a multiplayer sci-fi open-world game on PC centered around fast-paced mech battles, where players choose one of four classes of space fighters equipped with various gear.

Transitioning from the alpha to the beta version in May 2023, the highly anticipated space game Phantom Galaxies by Australian developer Blowfish, owned by Animoca, has now been released in early access on Epic Games on November 15, 2023. A non-blockchain version will also be available on Steam.
